Moraine Lake & Lake Louise

Paid parking at Lake Louise is limited, and access to Moraine Lake is closed to private vehicles-- alternate transportation must be arranged. Visitors can reach both Lake Louise and Moraine Lake by using the Parks Canada Shuttle, Roam Transit, taxi services, or guided tour operators.

The Parks Canada Shuttle operates on a reservation system during the summer season, with bookings opening on April 15, 2026. A portion of seats are also released 2 days prior to the travel date at 8:00 AM, which can be helpful for last-minute planning.

Roam Transit is another convenient option, offering reservable seats with their summer system released in phases. Reservations can be made in advance and are highly recommended. By purchasing a "Super Pass", guests also gain access to the Lake Connector Shuttle operated by Parks Canada, which runs between Lake Louise and Moraine Lake.

Guided Tours

Joining a guided tour is a wonderful way to experience the Canadian Rockies while learning more about the landscape, wildlife, and history of the area. Local guides know the best places to visit and can handle the logistics, allowing you to relax and fully enjoy the experience.

There are many great tour operators that operate in the Bow Valley, but we are happy to recommend our friends at Into the Wild Tours, a fantastic local company offering unforgettable experiences such as Moraine Lake and Lake Louise tours, stargazing tours, and private guided adventures throughout the region.

We love supporting local businesses whenever we can, and the friendly folks at Into the Wild Tours have kindly offered our guests 15% off guided or private tours—simply follow the link above, or use the code CANMOREMOUNTAINVACATION15 at checkout to receive the discount!
